One new avenue that I have pursued during my time at UNCW was creative writing.

While I had to take a creative writing class as part of my major, I loved it so much that I took more classes later on.

Here are some of my favorite pieces that I wrote:

This first piece is one of my favorites. During this time, I was inspired by two anime series—(ironically, both start with the word “Blue”): Blue Archive and, most importantly for this story, Blue Exorcist! For the class I wrote this piece for (which was Fiction Writing), this story ended up being the longest story page-wise! This is probably my favorite piece that I wrote.

This short story is intended to be a “fish out of water” story. Again inspired by anime and an encounter by my first Japanese Teacher, I wanted to write a story about how an African American like me could be received in Japan.
